  4. Be an active member: To be able to find a family you should engage in several conversations. This way, you will be able to connect with potential Host Families and decide which one fits your needs and expectations. If you don't want a family to be able to visit your profile and contact you, you can use the block icon on their profile. In case a family sends you inappropriate messages or if you have problems with them, click on the exclamation mark on their profile to “report abuse” and explain what happened.
  5. Make your own research: Make sure to read all the information available on AuPair.com about your host country. Click here to check out specific information about the most popular Au Pair destination. To get detailed information about the visa regulations in your host country, get in touch with the relevant authorities. Browse our Wiki section and our Blog to learn more about the Au Pair program and read important advice to keep in mind for a successful stay.
  6. Conduct interviews: After talking on the website, you can take the conversation to other platforms and meet the families via video calls. Click here to prepare and access our list of suggested questions to ask during the interview. We advise you to meet your Host Family AT LEAST 3 times in a video call before making any decision. This way, you will be able to understand if they are the right fit for you, and will have a chance to discuss all the contract details thoroughly.
  7. Sign the Au Pair contract: Once you and your Host Family discuss all the details of your stay, make sure to customize the Au Pair contract, which you can download for free here, and sign it before the beginning of your stay.
